Gospel diva and award winner Philipa Baafi has told the popular she has not received any royalty from neither MUSIGA nor GHAMBRO?in spite of her contribution to the music industry for the past years.
The Mother of two said, all calls made to the leadership of musicians association have proven futile ,while no tangible reason was given instead. She rather said, the last time she received royalty was ten years ago. The last time I received royalty was ten years ago and it was a peanuts he wailed adding that the purposes of royalty aimed to serve the benefits of musician is not felt.
Philipa Baafi, who has been absent in the gospel music scene for some time now attributed her absence to maternity leave. Beautiful looking singer explained,?I have been missing from screens for some time now, and it was due to maternity leave. I am back with difference, and my current album speaks for its self. Her current album ?Megye Me Din? is currently receiving radio airplays in the country.
Meanwhile, when the chairman of GHAMBRO office Mr. Carlos Sakyi, was contacted, he appealed to the musician to contact the GHAMBRO office in Kumasi to enable her register with the organization. Explaining further, he said GHAMBRO has only been in existence for just two years and if she has not been paid for seven years, she could direct her concern to GOSGHA. Mr. Carlos Sakyi there advised all musicians to come forward with their grievances since most of the problems existed long before GHAMBRO came into being.
