… Refreshes Security Services Manning Barriers
Pladis, the global biscuit, chocolate and confectionery company, which owns the iconic brands, Godiva, McVitie’s and Ulker, with its accredited local Distributor, Far East Mercantile Ghana Limited has donated several quantities of their much loved McVitie’s Range of biscuits which are enjoyed all over the world to the KorleBu Teaching Hospital and the Accra Regional Hospital respectively.
Speaking at both presentation ceremonies, Mr. Patrick Osei-Adusah, Territory Sales Manager, Ghana, pladis Global expressed the company’s appreciation to all Health workers especially those at the forefront of the Pandemic for facing the issues head on and the Security Agencies in helping to ensure peace in the country especially the partial locked down areas.
Commenting further, he said: “From the moment McVitie’s entered Ghana in 1980, 40+ years ago, the McVitie’s range of biscuits and the original McVitie’s Digestive in particular, has enjoyed a lot of love and support from Ghanaian consumers.
We therefore decided to show our love and appreciation to the Health Workers at both KorleBu and Accra Regional Hospitals since during tough times like these when people are making so many sacrifices, the small pleasures we provide make a big difference, and that is the pladis promise we will keep”. Mr. Osei also praised One on One Foundation for ensuring a successful presentation ceremony and for their massive sensitization on the Pandemic.
The CNO of KorleBu, Madam Annie Esinam Akotey and Dr. Emmanuel Srofenyoh, Medical Director at the Ridge Hospital both thanked pladis Global and their local Distributor for recognizing their efforts in helping curtail the spread of the Corona Virus in Ghana. They called on Ghanaians to respect all the necessary protocols (social-distancing, frequent washing of hands with running water and soap, using hand sanitizers among several others).
Present at the short but impressive ceremony were the MD and the National Sales Manager, Food for Far East Mercantile Ghana Limited, Mr. Vikas Singh and Mr. Rahul. Mr. Vikas Singh applauded the contribution of the Health workers in general and re-iterated the call on Ghanaians to adhere strictly to all the protocols announced.
Later in the day, the team supported by the CEO of One on One Foundation, Mr. Emmanuel Ola Williams, a Sanitation ambassador and a Youth Coordinator with the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) took time to visit some selected security checkpoints within the capital and expressed their appreciation for their hard work in maintaining law and order in the country. Assorted packed McVitie’s range of biscuits were presented to each Security personnel on duty. About 200 Security personnel were catered for.-
