Suspects Mohammed Fuseini and Isaac Mohammed Rabiu aka Kwasi in police custody
The Adabraka police has arrested two suspected armed robbers who attacked and robbed a student of African University College last Tuesday.
The two robbers, identified as Mohammed Fuseinei, 20, and Isaac Mohammed Rabiu aka Kwasi aged 20, using an unregistered motorbike snatched the hand bag of the student (name withheld) who they believed had gone to cash some money at a bank close to Trust Towers.
Suspects after snatching the bag attempted to escape but were later arrested by some onlookers few meters from the scene.
Suspects are now in police custody awaiting trial.
Briefing Daily Guide about the arrest, the Adabraka District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Cephas Koffie, said the suspects were brought to the police station around 4:30pm of Tuesday December, 17, 2013.
The victim was from the Trust Towers heading towards Kwame Nkrumah Circle on foot.
On reaching a section of the road near the total filling station, the suspects, who were using an unregistered Kinko Motor bike, attacked the victim and forcefully collected her hand bag containing her mobile phone, books and an amount of GH50.
However, when the two attempted to escape, a driver, who witnessed the act, crossed and pushed suspects? motor bike with his car in the process.
The suspects fell on the road and so onlookers managed to grab the two and immediately handed them over to the police.
The bag has since been retrieved and it will be used as evidence against the suspects.
