The electoral body warned it will apply the relevant sanctions to political parties that failed to comply with the directive.

The directive by the country’s electoral body is seen by many as an attempt to ensure the various registered political parties operate within the stipulated laws.

The West African country goes to the polls in November to elect a president and a 275-member legislative body.

The two front runners for the election are the governing National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party which was in government from 2001 to 2008 under John Agyekum Kufuor. Enditem
