The Obawale Methodist Primary School in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region is in a dilapidated sate and needs immediate attention to ensure quality education for pupils.

The school, which was established in 1965 and with a total enrollment of 160 pupils, has not seen any renovation since its establishment leading to the destruction of windows, roofs, doors and others.

Mr John Mautsueni, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman of the Obawale Methodist Primary School told the GNA in an interview that pupils were exposed to harsh weather conditions which affected their academic output.

He noted that in 2019, the municipality started constructing a new school building to house the pupils but was halted along the way.

We have sent several letters to both the municipality and the Methodist Church, Somanya Diocese for help but no response has been received yet.

Mr Mautsueni, said the school’s toilet facility was nothing to talk about because it did not meet the standard requirement posing danger to the pupils.

Mr Eric Hini, the Yilo Krobo Municipal Coordinating Director, assured us that plans were on course to improve the structure for teaching and learning.
