The Annor We Royal Family, one of the divisions of the Prampram Paramountcy, has earmarked several activities to celebrate this year’s Homowo Festival by the chiefs and people of Prampram.
In a communique released by the planning committee and signed by the Paramount Stoolfather and Dzaasetse of the Prampram Paramountcy, Numo Osabu Abbey IV, this year’s Homowo festival which seeks to unite members of the various gates under the Annor We Royal Family, will also be used as a platform to rollout several projects and programs such as a family scholarship scheme and a quarterly health screening for members of the Annor We Royal Family.
Some of the activities earmarked for the 2024 Prampram Homowo festival by the Annor We Royal Gate are as follows;
On Saturday the 24th of August 2024, a football competition will be held at the Prampram Anglican School Park amongst the 4 divisions of Prampram namely, Annor We Division, Kley Division, Lapkleh Divison, and Olowe Division
On Sunday the 25th of August 2024, there will also be an all-men card-playing competition among the 4 divisions of Prampram.
Monday the 26th of August will produce an all-women ludo game competition between women of the 4 divisional houses in Prampram.
Winners of each of these games to be held from the 24th of August to the 26th of August 2024 will go home with a cash prize of 500ghc each and other mouthwatering prizes.
Tuesday the 27th of August 2024, which seeks to be the grand celebration day, will see the day being observed with the sprinkling of Kpoikpoi (Kplekple) at the various houses of the Annor We royal family.
This will be followed by a family gathering on the 28th of August 2024, where members will hold merrymaking. The day will also be used as a platform for stocktaking of family activities and as well as an avenue to reconcile differences between individuals and groups within the Annor We Royal Family.
A grand Thanksgiving service by the Annor We Royal Family will be held on Sunday, the 1st of September 2024, at the Prampram Assemblies of God Church.
The Annor We Royal Family is by this release, calling on all members of the Annor We Royal Family both home and abroad to actively partake in this year’s historical Homowo celebrations.
The release also called on the Ghana Police Service to provide the needed security before, during, and after the Homowo celebrations to ensure a successful festive season in Prampram.
