Management of the Prempeh College has lauded the pioneer batch of the Senior Secondary School (SSS) system for refurbishing and equipping the College’s examinations office.

The gesture, according to the authorities, would help resource the office in the conduct of its activities for quality educational delivery.

Mr Aaron Attua Gyau, Headmaster of the College, speaking at the inauguration of the refurbished facility, in Kumasi, said the institution had attained its present status due to the priority it placed on the examination of students.

“Our students are made to undergo rigorous examination processes in order to prepare them adequately for academic life,” he told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), on the sidelines of the programme.

The facility was refurbished by the ‘Pioneer SSS Batch (1993 Year Group)’ in a bid to support its alma mater.

The equipment also donated by the former students comprised a Risograph and accessories, nine Trory Bilt mowers and air-conditioners.

Dignitaries, who attended the programme, included Professor Christian Agyare, Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (K NUST), who is a member of the ‘1993 Year Group’.

Mr Attua Gyau said the College had over the years relied on the support of the old students to improve its infrastructure, particularly in the wake of the increasing number of students pursuing various programmes of study.

This was significant in delivering quality education for the benefit of the society, the Headmaster noted.

Mr Kwame Baah-Acheamfour, an engineer, speaking on behalf of the Group, said the former students were grateful to the authorities for instilling in them a sense of discipline.

“We are what we are today due to the good training we went through during our stay on campus,” he emphasized.

The Group, he assured, would liaise with the authorities regularly for the uplift of the College.
