Presby choir celebrates anniversary

The Adabraka Official Town Presbyterian Church choir has marked its 40th anniversary with a thanksgiving service in Accra.

Members of the choir were joined by the general congregation to thank God for His goodness, mercy, guidance and sustenance in the past 40 years through song ministration, praise and worship at the special service last Sunday.

The Minister in charge of the Faith Community Congregation of the Presbyterian Church, Rev Nana Yaw Amponsah-Antwi, who preached the sermon, advised members of the choir to use their talent to always praise God and ?set the captives free?.

He encouraged Christians to always appreciate the goodness of God, in spite of the challenges of life.

He also urged them to muster courage, even in difficult situations, and give praise to God as Paul and Silas did when they were chained and put in prison, as recorded in Acts 16:16-31 of the Bible.

Rev Amponsah-Antwi said Christians must tell the truth at all times and avoid giving false testimonies against their neighbours, adding that by doing so, the grace of God would be abundant on them.

The Adabraka Official Town Church choir was established in 1971 with 15 members. It now has a membership of 66.

To manage the affairs of the choir, a 15-member executive committee was inaugurated at the service.

Dedicated choir members were presented with certificates of honour.
