Ghana?s President says investor interest in his country is very high.
President John Mahama, upon arrival from the 2014 World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland, told Journalists at the Kotoka International Airport that: ?The conclusion I came away with from Davos is that investor interest in Ghana is very high and we should take advantage of that interest?.
He nonetheless noted that: ??We must put in place strategies that allow our economy to grow and create employment and jobs for our young people.??
President John Mahama also said Ghana?s participation in the 2014 World Economic Forum at Davos was successful.
?The sessions were fruitful; we attended specific sessions that related to Ghana. The first one was responsible mining and extractive industries to discuss issues of illegal small scale mining and other challenges that arise as a result of mining activity?, President John Mahama told Journalists when he returned home.
According to him, ?there were also bilaterals that we held with many investors who are either investing in Ghana or have an interest in investing in Ghana.??
He said: ?Some of the main issues that were discussed were issues of inequality in the world; how we can re-shape the world economy such that the rising inequalities are ameliorated.??
The 2014 World Economic Forum was on the theme ?The Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business.??
