During the 8-years of Barack Obama’s rule, we have witnessed with the greatest dismay his foul attempts of destabilizing global peace. He and his administration were indulged into making a terror-patron nation like Iran much stronger, while were secretly romancing with mega-terrorist outfit Hamas.
On the other hand, Obama played rogue diplomacy in accelerating tension in the Korean Peninsula by unjustly putting pressure on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) by imposing one-after-another punitive sanction.
His madness centering the Korean affairs clearly showed the notorious agenda of Obama in keeping the Korean Peninsula and the neighboring countries like Japan and South Korea under threats of uncertainty. Obama administration was busy in portraying DPRK leader Kim Jong Un as a “threat” to the global peace, although the reality was just the opposite.
Historically, the people and leadership of DPRK had never supported hostility or undue aggressive attitude towards its neighboring nations and the world. We need to remember, the founding father of DPRK, President Kim Il Song had wholeheartedly promoted global peace and humanity.
His successor, Kim Jong Il had followed the principle of President Kim Il Sung and the brilliant philosophy of Juche, which teaches people of dedicating towards the betterment of humanity.
Juche philosophy focuses on Korean nationalism, self-reliance, and socialism. It means, it teaches the people to be patriotic and nationalist.
It may be mentioned here that, Kim Il Sung was the first leader of North Korea which he ruled from the country’s establishment in 1948 until his death in 1994. He held the posts of Premier from 1948 to 1972 and President from 1972 to 1994. He was also the leader of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) from 1949 to 1994 [as Chairman from 1949 to 1966 and as General Secretary after 1966]. Under his leadership, DPRK, which also is known as North Korea was established as a socialist state with a publicly owned and planned economy. It had close political and economic relations with the Soviet Union. By the 1960s, North Korea enjoyed briefly a standard of living higher than South Korea.
At the 6th WPK Congress in 1980, his oldest son Kim Jong-il was elected as a Presidium member and chosen as his heir apparent to the supreme leadership. President Kim Il-Sung’s birthday is a public holiday in North Korea called the “Day of the Sun”. In 1998, Kim Il-sung was declared “eternal President of the Republic”.
The gesture of friendship
Donald Trump is the first sitting US President who has publicly expressed willingness of meeting DPRK leader Chairman Kim Jong Un during his Japan visit and who had visited DPRK.
Some of the notorious media in the world has published comment of US first daughter Ivanka Trump, who termed President Trump’s DPRK visit as “surreal”. But those hostile media possibly do not know, one of the meanings of this word is dreamlike.
Yes, President Trump’s stepping into the soil of DPRK was dreamlike and it certainly gives a strong message to the world – Washington is going to reshuffle its policy towards Pyongyang and onwards build a warm relation based on mutual trust and respect.
There is no doubt about resuming of working-level talks between the US and DPRK on various issues, because both sides, especially President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un are genuinely intending in making an end to the crisis in the Korean Peninsula and begin a new era of hope, prosperity, and happiness.
President Donald Trump says, Marshal Kim Jong Il is his friend and a great leader and claims to have fallen in love with him. There is no doubt about the charismatic and magnanimous leadership qualities both in President Trump and Kim Jong Un and for certain, both are great leaders. To my understanding, people of DPRK love their leader.
It was a great surprise to Kim Jong Un
Kim Jong Un was surprised while shaking hand with President Donald Trump just meters away from the DPRK soil and said with his signature smile, “I never expected to meet you at this place”.
A smiling Donald Trump expressing his willingness of stepping into the soil of DPRK asked Marshal Kim Jong Un, “Would you like me to step across?”
In response, Kim Jong Un said, “If your excellency would step forward, you will be the first US president to cross the border”.
Yes, President Donald Trump has made the history and hopefully onwards there will be no more backstepping from the process of establishing peace in the Korean Peninsula.
Hopefully now, President Donald Trump will take some immediate measure in listing the unjust sanction of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. We need to remember – hostility can never bring peace. Only friendship can win everything, and now it is the beginning of a new era of friendship between President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un. All we can now expect is a return visit by Kim Jong Un within next few months reaffirming the prospect of peace and prosperity of DPRK and most importantly, permanent peace in the Korean Peninsula.
