YFM Dialogues with the Youth

Reverend Father Emmanuel Azura, Assistant Parish Priest of the Asesewa St Augustine Catholic Church has called on youth organisations in various Parishes of the Church to avoid engaging in illegal and violent activities.

The Assistant Parish Priest made the call during an interaction with journalists at his parish at Asesewa in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region urged them to rather harness the potentials of the youth for national development, and not for conflict and political activities.

Fr Azura also advised them to work for peaceful co-existence and unity as the Catholic Church abhorred mayhem and ethnicity.

He stressed the need to involve the private sector in youth programmes to supplement the effort of the government, and asked the private sector to partner government to implement programmes for the youth.

He advised the youth to engage in activities such as youth choirs, fellowships and other societies that would ensure self-sufficiency amongst them.

He urged the more than 500 congregants to draw up pragmatic programmes that would help them to achieve their development goals.
