A pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group, the Third Elevation of Dombo, has donated significantly to Jamiat Girls Senior High School in the Upper West Region to bolster the school’s administrative capabilities.
The group officially launched on May 26, 2024, in Jirapa, is committed to supporting Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, and the party’s parliamentary candidates in the region.
During the handover ceremony, Iddrisu Bomison, coordinator for NPP volunteer groups in the region, known as V-Connect, outlined that the donation is part of a broader strategy to support the NPP’s campaign efforts in the Wa Central Constituency and beyond.
Bomison reiterated the group’s dedication to the party’s success in the 2024 elections.
The delegation, led by NPP regional chairman Alhaji Aziz Abdul Rahman, presented the school with 12 chairs, a teacher’s desk, and a bookshelf.
Rahman also committed to upgrading the school’s administration block into a modern facility, which would enhance the educational environment for students and staff.
Yakubu Mahadeen, the assistant headmaster in administration at Jamiat Girls SHS, expressed gratitude for the support.
He acknowledged the school’s ongoing needs and called on other individuals, groups, or institutions to contribute to improving its learning outcomes.
“It’s a government institution, and we will need support from anybody. We need development,” Mahadeen said.
Mahadevan also thanked the NPP government for previous contributions, including a school bus, a 12-unit classroom block, a fence wall, and a bungalow.
He commended the Third Elevation of Dombo group for their timely intervention, noting that the donation was necessary and impactful. “You have done well, and we need more,” he concluded.
The donation is seen as a strategic effort by the NPP to strengthen its presence in the region and secure substantial support for its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
