Sam Pee Yalley, former Ghanaian High Commissioner to India and President of the Professional Forum (Proforum), has condemned the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he describes as the unjust persecution of former President John Dramani Mahama.
Yalley’s comments come in response to the recent report by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on the Airbus bribery scandal.
The 24-page OSP report, authored by Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, concluded that no evidence links Mahama or any other public official to bribes associated with purchasing military transport aircraft from Airbus.
The report stated that no evidentiary basis was found suggesting that Mahama or other officials were involved in bribery by intermediaries Samuel Adam Foster (Samuel Adam Mahama), Philip Sean Middlemiss, and Leanne Sarah Davis.
Yalley has interpreted the OSP’s findings as a clear indication of the NPP’s “shameless peddling of falsehoods” and politically motivated attacks against Mahama.
He argues that the report’s conclusion refutes claims of wrongdoing and underscores the politically driven nature of the allegations against the former president.
