It is the holy month of Ramadan and millions of people across the world observe and celebrate it with charity, prayer, and fasting.
A leading e-commerce direct selling company QNET, which shares the values of Ramadan has donated benevolently to people and society in many countries across Sub-Saharan Africa.
In Ghana and on 11th and 12th May 2021, QNET donated five (filled) large 47.2 KG Oxygen Cylinders, three Medical Regulators, Four Wheelchairs, and eleven crutches to the Ghana Police Hospital at Cantonment in Accra. These medical equipment and items are to help the hospital cater for the healthcare of patients.
Recently in Ghana, when the COVID-19 situation spiked, some hospitals did not have enough oxygen to administer to their patients who were in critical conditions in various Intensive Care Units.
Receiving the items, the Director of General Services for the Hospital, COP Mr. George Alex Mensah, expressed gratitude to QNET and said he would be happy and fulfilled to see the equipment save lives in the Hospital. He was joined by the Acting Medical Director, DCOP Dr. Ewusi-Emmim, the Hospital Administrator, DCOP Mr. David Eklu, the Director of Finance, ACP Mr. Osei Akoto Arthur, and other police officers.
In a similar way, QNET donated Oxygen Cylinders, Wheelchairs and crutches to the Komfo Anokye Hospital in Kumasi. The Medical Director, Prof. Baafuor Kofi, thanked QNET for the gesture and promised to put the items to good use.
Noting the importance of community service to QNET, Mr. Biram FALL, QNET AMD Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, said:
“One of the values QNET promotes is caring. Being attentive to others and to their needs. This is what QNET is working on, both in the products it offers and in its CSR actions.
Thus, this donation is a manifestation of our commitment to the communities. A translation of QNET’s philosophy: raise yourself to help mankind (RHYTHM).”
This donation forms part of a vast Ramadan charity campaign initiated by QNET for several years. This year, it is taking place in more than 30 countries around the world, including Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
