Information reaching the corridors of NewsGhana indicates that two radio stations affiliated to the opposition National Democratic Congress – Radio Gold and Radio XYZ – have been taken off the air.
It comes after officials of the National Communications Authority and some police personnel stormed the premises of Radio XYZ Thursday afternoon. The stations have been off air since Thursday afternoon.
Checks conducted by this news portal reveal that the NCA in the company of some national security and BNI officials stormed the premises of the two stations to close them because they have not renewed their licenses.
According to some workers of Radio XYZ the police team led by the NCA official came to their office.
