The Friends of Jefferson Madison Regional Library based in Charlottesville of USA have donated a quantity of Books to the Methodist Raffiki Satellite Village at Effutu Gyahadze near Winneba.

Mr. Dave Morris former Vice Mayor of Charlottesville who represented the Friends of Madison Library during the presentation said the books were intended to help the children prepare their minds for future exploration and advancement.

Mr. Morris, who is also the Executive Director of Charlottesville-Winneba Foundation, was hopeful that Management of Raffiki Home would take good care of the books and maintain them properly for the present and future children of the home.

Mrs. Ernestina N. Yawson, Chief Executive Officer of Winneba Sister City Commission, said the donation would not only strengthen the bounds of friendship between the institution and the sister cities, but also go a long way to improve the quality of learning of the children.

Reverend Nana Isaac Abeaka, Director of the Home who received the items assured the donors that the gift would be put to good use, saying, it came at the time when the Home was preparing the children for a reading competition in the course of the year.

Earlier Very Rev. Eldad Bonney, Executive Member of the Commission, had also expressed appreciation to the donors, saying that the donation would also go a long way to cement the existing cordial relationship between City of Charlottesville and Winneba.
