Deputy Majority leader in Parliament, Abdul Rashid Hassan Pelpuo has launched a third term bid for the Wa Central constituency seat.
Speaking to a large gathering of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters at the Wa Kejetia, Mr. Pelpuo assured the people that the consistent development projects going on in the country will continue because the NDC has the right personnel to pursue them.
?I know you will do it and you will be doing it with a reason. The reason is that you know I can travel the extra length with President Mahama and seek for our people the public good we are all looking for. Ghana will not burn; those who are craving violence in this country will never succeed. We are moving forward to widen the frontiers of our development to ensure that Ghana becomes a better country,? he added.
Mr. Pelpuo called on the people to reject the free education policy being preached the NPP flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo because it is not feasible and only intended to woo gullible voters to vote for the NPP.
He advised the supporters to close their ears to untruths being peddled by their political opponents who?s intention is to breed division, dissatisfaction and discontent within the NDC.
He called on the people to retain the NDC government in power in order to bring more development to their doorsteps be it in the area of water, electricity, health or education.
The Upper West Regional Minister, Ambassador Amin Amidu Sulemani said he was not amused about the NPP and its flagbearer promising Ghanaians free education because they always have something under their sleeves to deceive Ghanaians with.
?In 1992, the NPP promised to build a railway from the south to the north. Thank God that they didn?t win but later they won in 2000 and they stayed in power for 8 years, where is the railway and how many kilometers have they done towards the north??, the minister asked.
The Upper West Deputy Regional Minister, Kale Caesar appealed to the youth to wake up and support the candidature of President Mahama because he is affable, humble and he knows the challenges facing the youth and that failure to vote for him will dim their chances in life.
