Jones Attuquayefio passed on early Tuesday morning
Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila is the latest to pay his respect to legendary Ghanaian coach Jones Attuquayefio who died on Tuesday morning.
The 70-year-old lost his protracted battle with cancer at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
News of Attuquayefio?s passing has deservedly drawn tributes from several personalities linked with football from far and near.
Sumaila who never profited from the tutelage of the enigmatic trainer has now also joined the chorus of tributes that is being heaped on the departed legendary coach.
?I heard the news this morning and it?s a bit sad because he is a very good coach and a great person as well,? the on loan Mamelodi Sundowns defender at Al Qadsia said.
?My condolences to his family and May his soul rest in peace. He will be always membered.?
Attuquayefio is best remembered for leading Hearts of Oak to win the CAF Champions League and Super Cup in the year 2000 before clinching the maiden Confederation Cup in 2004.
