Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila won his first silverware in Kuwait after Al Qadsia beat Al Salmiyah 1-0 on Tuesday to lift the Emir Cup.

The centre-back played the entire duration as Saud Mijmeed scored the only goal.

Sumaila joined the Kuwaiti side on a short-term loan deal this January from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 22-year-old will add this title to the league successes with Asante Kotoko and Sundowns in the Ghana Premier League and Absa Premiership.
