Four Ghanaians Handed Wbu Title Fights

Rates for the Freedom Fight Night on Saturday March 11 has been announced by Street Wise Promotions and Errol Hawk Boxing Management in Accra.

According to Jacob Zwennes who is manager of US based boxer, Fred Lawson, the Night is an opportunity to celebrate Ghana Boxing as part of the 60th Independence Anniversary and expressed his gratitude to the government and Ghana 60 Years On Secretariat for supporting the event which comes on at the newly built Bukom Boxing Arena.

He quoted the rates as 300ghc for the VIP Stand, 200ghc for the Ring Side, 70ghc for the Media Stand and 20ghc for the Popular Stand.

He noted that organizing international boxing events is very expensive and wished other companies were part to reduce some of the financial burden.

Coach Carl Lokko, managing partner of Street Wise Promotions said Ghanaians must not wait to be told what happened, but show their presence and support as there are other tough fights on the undercard.

Three World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Belts are for grabs for Ghana’s world hopefuls; Richard Commey, Duke Micah and Freddy Lawson.

In the supporting national championship bouts Emanuel Anim faces George Bamson, Felix Ajom takes on Richard Amanful, Ben Ankrah (Congo Soldier) versus Kpakpo Allotey, Jacob Dickson versus Ofei Dodoo and Isaac Aryee against Kofi Manu.

Some companies that have so far supported the programme are SSNIT, Trust Sports, EPC Polska, ddp, Oak Plaza Hotel, Euro Car, Mofaya Energy Drink, Ethiopia Airlines, Leonart Yert, Oil Seed, Yoks rent A Car, Multi Media, Graphic Communications and GTV.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Boxing Supporters Union (GHBSU) has been formed and they will test their instruments and songs on Friday at the weight in and Saturday, the day of the fight.
