Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May to honour motherhood and pay homage to mothers who have and continue to inspire all.

It is believed that the bond between a mother and her child is the strongest, and Mother’s Day appreciates the same.

Being a weekend means a lot of outdoor events could have been held in honour of mothers, but in the wake of the COVID -19 pandemic with its subsequent ban on public gatherings, the glamour and the humor that often accompanied the day would be missing for the first time.

However, the Raybow International Hotel located few meters after the Shippers’ Roundabout in Takoradi is leaving no stone unturned to put smiles on the faces of patrons, and to maintain the glamour in this year’s celebration despite the woes of the COVID -19 pandemic.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on how it intended to achieve this, Madam Emzara Ansah Sam, Events and Sales Manager of the Hotel, hinted that her outfit would embark on a free delivery of request to the homes and offices of patrons in the Metropolis in honour of mothers.

According to her, the Hotel had put together three packages such as “Cherished Package” comprising salad compose with dinner rolls, a pack of golden fried chili chicken with Ray’s jollof rice, four pieces of samosa, a bottle of nonalcoholic wine, a pack of Ceres fruit juice, a 1.5L bottle of coca-cola and a bar of chocolate.

The “Treasured Package” has salad compose with dinner rolls, a pack of golden fried chili chicken with Ray’s jollof rice, a pack of fish panne with vegetable rice, six pieces of samosa, a bottle of nonalcoholic wine, seasonal fresh fruit platter, a pack of Ceres fruit juice, a 1.5L bottle of coca-cola and a bar of chocolate.

Madam Emzara announced that patrons could visit the hotel’s website at www.raybowhotel.com or make calls to the numbers 031-202272, 0205002680 and 0500999977 for their packages, which would be delivered to them at no extra cost.

She recounted that the hospitality industry had always been the focal point for these events, with many hotels hosting activities to give patrons the chance to give their mothers a royal treat hence, the packages and the free deliveries.

She “contended that the contribution of a mother in the lives of her children is immense and though a single day is never going to be enough to thank her for the love and commitment, it was essential to acknowledge the same and make them feel special”.
