Rayon Sport will reduce the gap with table leaders APR to two points if they win today’s Primus League tie against Isonga. The Blues take on the youthful side this afternoon at Kigali Regional Stadium hoping for nothing short of three points.

Jean Marie Ntagwabira’s side is fresh from a 5-2 victory over La Jeunesse in the Peace Cup and will fancy their chances against the league debutants.

Sina Jerome scored a hat-trick against La Jeunesse and will be hoping to continue his form this afternoon. Since last season, the versatile midfielder has become an integral member of the blues’ side.

“Our focus is to get as close as possible to the top and the easiest way to do this is by winning our games,” a confident Ntagwabira said.

While Rayon are chasing for their sixth win in the league, Isonga are desperate to get their second under the belt.

Eric Nshimiyimana’s side has struggled to find their feet in the league after a run of one win, four draws and three defeats.

Isonga coach Eric Nshimiyimana will be boosted by the return of his influential midfielder Farouk Ruhinda.

Rayon are currently in fifth place with 19 points. Mukura are second with 23 points while Police and Kiyovu are joint third with 21 points.
