Rejoinder: Clarification on Previous Report Concerning UCC Vice Dean

We have realised that a recent article we published on our platform, News Ghana, 22nd July 2024, contained false information about Dr Christopher Yaw Kwaah, the Vice Dean of the School of Educational Development and Outreach (SEDO) at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

We want to clarify and correct the record.

Contrary to our earlier report, Dr Christopher Yaw Kwaah was not arrested in connection with any alleged murder of Ms Mavis Mensah, as indicated in our previous publication; neither has he been convicted by any court within this jurisdiction.

Our previous story suggested that Dr Kwaah, following a trip from Germany, was involved in a quarrel with Ms Mensah that led to Ms Mensah’s death at a hotel in East Legon, Accra.

This information is false and misleading.

We sincerely regret any distress or damage this false report may have caused Dr. Kwaah, his family, colleagues, and the wider UCC community.

We are committed to ensuring that all our reports are accurate, fair, and based on verified facts. Our editorial team is taking immediate steps to review our processes and prevent such errors from occurring again.

We apologise unreservedly to Dr Christopher Yaw Kwaah and all parties affected by this misinformation.
