He called on H. E. John Dramani Mahama to focus on issues such as corruption, ghost names on government payroll, electoral reforms, the role of Parliament, restoring public confidence in the Institutions of state, management of natural resources, political polarization etc.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with the weekly observer in Accra, Dr. Hassan Ayariga described the senchi economy forum as a wasted of country’s resource and made references to his suggestion made in his encounter with the IEA on Presidential Platform in 2012 that he will bring on board a long term National Development Plan for Ghana, which will last for next twenty to thirty years period.

According to him, that will include a development policy document that contains the national vision. “It will be a document that will focus on rehabilitation of the various sectors of the economy, growth and a new direction for our country.”

The significance of such a plan for the Ghanaians, he said, is that it would encourage long term planning for all and its going to be non partisan development policy and would be drafted professionally with empirical facts on projections in all sectors of the economy in the long term.

Dr. Ayariga explained further that individuals, particularly students, could therefore use information in the LTDP as a guide in planning for skills acquisition, also businesses and for investors, the LTDP would also provide the appropriate guide investment decision.

He also annouced his decision to contest again come 2016 election which he said he will announce it officially soon.
