Rev. Monsignor Matthew Yitiereh urges Religious leaders to be united

Reverend Monsignor Matthew Yitiereh, outgoing Vicar General and Bishop-Elect of the Yendi Diocese has called on religious leaders to build unity amongst themselves to enhance peace and love in society.

He said it was the duty of religious leaders to work together to play positive roles in society to create love and peace amongst people.

Reverend Monsignor Yitiereh made the call while delivering a sermon during church service in Tamale.

He advised Christian and Muslim leaders to relate well with one another to fulfil the basic needs of people as part of showing love to society.

He stated that the religious origins of peaceful coexistence between Islam and Christianity showed compassion and charity and promoted peace and security in the country.

He called on the citizens to tolerate one another and seek forgiveness from each other to promote peace in the country and advised religious leaders not to encourage social division in their communities.
