Rex Owusu Marfo known in entertainment circles as Rex Omar has withdrawn from the Chairmanship race of the Ghana music rights organization.
He made this revelation on peace fm?s entertainment show Entertainment review on Saturday.
Rex explained that although he was in contention to win the elections, he believes GHARMRO will be a better organization with Kojo Antwi at the helm of affairs. He stated that he has followed Kojo Antwi throughout his career and believes Kojo is on top of issues with regards to the business aspect of the organization.
?Kojo Antwi throughout his career has excelled in all spheres and I believe he will be better at the helm of affairs at GHARMRO. I trust Kojo is better with music and the business part of music. The worth of experience Kojo Antwi has in the industry has caused me to withdraw from the race. I am young in the game as compared to my big brother so I am throwing in the towel so Kojo can salvage the image of GHARMRO.?
He mentioned that he has withdrawn from the race based on the credentials and competence of Kojo Antwi and believes it is better to withdraw for the pioneer in the industry to do the job.
He promised to put his weight behind Kojo Antwi and will continue to fight the good fight to salvage the image of the organization and to fight for the rights of the current and yet to be musicians.
However, the administrative consultant for GHARMRO, Abraham Agyetey explained that although Rex Omar will not subject to any punishment, he will pay for the cost of posters, electoral commission and other adverts done with regards to the forth coming elections.
