South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday vowed to secure an election victory for the African National Congress (ANC), the ruling party in the country, in the 2024 elections.

“Given that our country will hold its seventh National and Provincial Elections in 2024, our overarching priority is to work for a decisive ANC election victory so that it may obtain a clear mandate to continue the transformation of our country,” Ramaphosa, who is also the ANC president, said when addressing the celebration of the party’s 112th anniversary at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga Province. “The ANC will launch its election manifesto next month, setting out in detail our vision and program for taking our country forward during the next five years and beyond,” Ramaphosa said, noting that the ANC is ready to launch a campaign that will engage with citizens and every sector of society.

Ramaphosa added that in 2024, they will work to accelerate the reconstruction of the economy, deliver quality basic services and infrastructure, renew the ANC and society, and fight crime and corruption.
