S. African civil organizations plan mass anti-Zuma demonstrations

The meeting followed a Constitutional Court judgment on March 31 which found that Zuma failed to uphold, defend and respect the Constitution by not taking action recommended by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela regarding payment for the security upgrades at his private home in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal Province.

At the meeting, over 72 political parties, trade unions, civil and faith-based organizations resolved to start their demonstrations all over the country on the Independence Day which falls on April 27 to press their demand for Zuma to relinquish his post.

They emphasized that the mass demonstration should be disciplined and non-violent.

The ANC has voiced full support for Zuma, saying the president did not break his aoth of office. Enditem
