The Chief of Enyan Abassa in the Ajumako Traditional area in the Central region, Nana Okofor Amoako Boamdem III, has called on President Mahama to relieve the Chieftaincy Minister, Mr. Alex Asum-Ahensan of his position.
According to HIM, the chieftaincy Minister, since his appointment has failed to visit all the Regional Houses of Chiefs to confer with them as expected of a chieftaincy minister.
Okofor Amoako Boamdem III made the call when President Mahama called on the Central regional House of Chiefs as part of his campaign tour of the region.
?I don?t understand how a manager can manage an institution or any programme without first touching base with the very people he is meant to serve?, the chief noted.
?Talking about the Minister for Chieftaincy and Culture, his constituency is ?Nananom? (chiefs). If you cannot spend the first year of your assignment visiting your ten houses of chiefs, I dare say that you are useless to our institution? he stated.
Nana Okofor Amoako Boamdem III advised President Mahama to sack Mr. Asum-Ahensan if he is retained in office after the December 7 polls.
President Mahama, who is wrapping up his campaign tour of the region today asked the chief to send a formal proposal to him for the issue to be addressed.
