Yaw Buaben Asamoa, a prominent figure in the Movement for Change, has urged the President to dismiss the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.
Asamoa criticized the minister’s performance, citing significant and impactful failures in key responsibilities as grounds for his removal.
In an appearance on TV3’s Keypoints, Asamoa passionately argued that removing the minister is not just important, but urgent to tackling illegal mining and addressing land-grabbing issues currently plaguing the country.
“The Minister has failed in the two key areas of his ministry; he has to resign. Somebody must be held accountable,” Asamoa said.
He emphasized that labour unions also voice concerns about state capture and land grabbing, suggesting these issues should be added to their grievances.
He further stated, “In the case of land grabs and galamsey, heads must roll. If heads don’t roll, then there is complicity.”
