A Ghana News Agency monitoring team at the Makola market observed that there was a lot of human and vehicular traffic; however, some traders the GNA spoke to, said the sales were not as expected.

Goods on display at the Makola market includes clothing for both the young and old, toys, Christmas decorations, hampers, food and drinks, shoes, toiletries and many items with some of people playing loud music at selected parts of the market.

Traders were spotted playing ‘hide and seek’ with some members of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly Taskforce who were trying to restrain them from selling at unauthorised places and place not demarcated for selling.

The traffic situation however had not changed significantly but the Police Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) were on hand directing traffic and dealing with motorists and drivers who did not comply with the traffic and driving rules.

The prices of already-made dresses for children ranged from GH¢30 to GH¢150 while shoes ranged from GH₵15.00 to GH₵50.00

Toys were selling from GH₵5.00 to GH₵35.00; hampers were going for GH₵180.00 while prices of Christmas cards ranged from GH₵5.00 to GH₵10.00 depending on the size and brand.
