Sammy Awuku, the Director General of the National Lotteries Authority and Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akuapem North Constituency, has set an ambitious target of securing 70% of the total votes in the upcoming parliamentary elections on December 7.

This goal builds on the NPP’s previous success, which was achieved with a 55% victory in the 2020 general elections under the leadership of MP Abena Dokua.

Addressing the party faithful after the Ofie Mega Walk in Akropong, Awuku expressed confidence in the NPP’s strategic planning, which he believes will outmanoeuvre their primary opponent, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“Today, as we reflect on our 55% parliamentary vote in 2020 and launch our campaign for the 2024 elections, our focus is clear: we aim to secure 70% of the votes through meticulous strategic planning,” Awuku stated.

He drew inspiration from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, emphasizing the Vice President’s energy and dedication as a driving force for the party’s campaign.

Awuku urged the youth to prioritize their future and align themselves strategically to ensure victory in the upcoming elections.

“In the NPP’s Youth Wing led by Salam Mustapha, we have robust and competent machinery ready to deliver victory in 2024. The youth must be mentally prepared and strategically positioned for the challenges ahead,” Awuku asserted.

He also addressed concerns about fairness in the electoral process, assuring supporters that the election will be conducted transparently.

Awuku pointed out his familiarity with legal matters, having dealt with court proceedings in the past, and expressed confidence in the credibility of the electoral results.

“We will not be intimidated by the NDC. If they challenge the results in court, as they have done before, we are prepared. A vote for Dr Bawumia is a vote for our collective future,” Awuku concluded.

In December, the NPP’s strategy in Akuapem North hinges on leveraging organizational strength, strategic foresight, and youth mobilization to achieve their electoral objectives.
