According to Nana Gyan, a master lead drummer who was then vice president until Stephen Ashie relinquished his position as president; the Union must be guided and transformed to be able to achieve their ambitions and goals.

He asked members to remain focused and respect the executives who have positive aspirations for the Union.

Nana Gyan, a businessman who has deep interest in music and sports specially boxing said they want to find ways of encouraging promoters and boxers to produce more champions for Ghana.

He expressed that the nation has very good boxers who need motivation to become world champions, but they must go through the ranks to gain experience and exposure.

He noted that GBSU is there to support and cheer both professional and amateur boxing and they do not discriminate as all of Ghana’s boxing champions need equal attention and inspiration.

“We need more boxing champions, and every one who loves the game must contribute to let us celebrate our boxing heroes. We have to get more champions to make boxing the best” he said.

He called on all boxing fans to abide by the health and safety protocols during this covid-19 pandemic, and stay at home if they do not have anything to do in town.

He also encouraged them to wear nose and mouth masks to avoid spreading the covid-19 which is real.
