As Moslems in the country begin the Ramadan fast, the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources has supported the National Chief Imam, Sheik Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, with a variety of items.
The items presented included fifty packs of G Water products, four boxes of Carbolic soap and 100 loaves of bread.
In a press release issued by Mr Nelson Kofi Akatey of the Ministry’s Public Relations Unit and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the donation was done on behalf of the sector Minister Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah by Mr Joseph Obeng Poku, a Director at the Ministry.
Presenting the items Mr Opoku said the donation was also in recognition of the celebration of the 101st birthday anniversary of the National Chief Imam.
“The items was to wish the National Chief Imam and all Muslims a happy Ramadan season and good health for the National Chief Imam on the occasion of his 101 birthday anniversary,” he said.
Alhaji Latif, the Protocol Officer at the Office of the National Chief Imam, who received the items, commended the Ministry and the Minister for their kind gesture adding that the donation was appropriate and timely.
He assured the Minister that the items would be put to good use.
