The 98-year groups of Adisadel Old Boys Association, Santa 98 has registered 263 children in Anfoega in the North Dayi District of the Volta Region.
The registration, which took place at the Anfoega Catholic Hospital forms part of the Santa 98 annual charity projects.
Mr Ahmed Adjei, the President of the Group in an interview with the GNA, said in the past they had donated to orphanages and supported medical expenses of needy people.
This year’s project was inspired by a member of the Group, Dr Samuel Lartey, the Medical Superintendent of Anfoega Catholic Hospital.
He said the objective was to assist children in the North Dayi District to assess basic healthcare through the year with the help from health officers in the hospital to spread the word.
He said the total of registered children included first time card holders and for those who had to renew their cards.
The President of the group thanked the management of the hospital and NHIS officers for their support and urged the parents to report to the hospital with their children for healthcare now that they had the cards.
Dr Lartey, a Secretary to the Group, expressed excitement that the project had brought relief to the children in the district.
