Saudi Arabia donates 50 tons of date fruits to Ghana

The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday donated 2,500 cartons of date fruits to Ghana.

The annual donations, which began six years ago, have now become part of Ghana-Saudi Arabia relations.

Receiving the items, Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey said the Ghana-Saudi relations had over the years been characterized by a common desire to forge friendship and cooperation based on mutual respect and support for each other’s aspirations, as exemplified in this donation.

She thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s donation and assured them that the fruits would be distributed to appropriate beneficiaries across the country as the Ramadan fasting period approached.

The Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz Alnasser, said the donation confirmed the deep, strong relations of cooperation and friendship existing between the two countries since the 1960s. Enditem
