Pupils eating a meal under School Feeding Programme
Pupils of various Schools benefiting from the School Feeding programme in the Ejura-Sekyedumase District of the Ashanti Region will have to stay in school without food until the latest impasse between caterers and New Patriotic Party (NPP) foot soldiers is addressed.
A letter sighted by ultimatefmonline.com dated January 12, 2017 with reference “ESMA/HA1/06/01/V2/128” and signed by Alhaji Hafiz Adam, the District Coordinating Director, announced the suspension of the programme.
Excerpts of the letter read “This is to inform the public in general and caterers of the Ghana School Feeding Programme in particular that the School Feeding Programme has been suspended till further notice. All caterers are therefore advised to comply with this directive”
Meanwhile, caterers are currently locked up in meeting with authorities of the Ejura-Sekyedumase District Assembly to find an amicable solution to the raging confusion that degenerated into violence on Thursday leading to the injury of about four persons.
