He expressed this sentiment speaking to issues of how to revive the Ghana Premier league from its slumber on Metro TV’s Sports File.

According to him “in Europe teams that give their players pittance as salaries are those in the lower tier sides so it will be best if teams who cannot pay their players very well are scraped out of the system so that if the teams in the league are ten and players are paid well, the league could regain its lost glory.”

He alluded to the fact that most of the teams in Ghana lack fundiing but said scraping those who cannot pay their players out of the league will improve the standard of the league.

He called on corporate bodies to use local players for their adverts and billboards in order to generate funds for running the local league.

He however bemoaned the installment style of paying players saying “what can he do with that meagre amount and at the end of his career you will say he lead a wasteful life”.

The Ghana league has over the years lost its attractiveness and vaibility because of lack of funding.
