At the Media launch, the Director General of SEC Mr Adu Anane-Antwi the week’s celebration will be used as a platform to educate the public on how to create wealth using the capital market as a means.

According to him, the primary Mission of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is to protect investors and maintain the integrity of the securities market, hence the need for the Commission to always ensure that sector players are more informed about activities in the capital market.

Mr Adu Anane-Antwi pointed out that first-time investors begin to look upon the securities market as an alternative investment opportunity and as a means of securing their futures, paying for homes, and educating children, these goals, he noted are more compelling than ever.

To this end, he averred that the Commission is by the celebration, which begins from Monday, 27th to 31st October 2014, reaching the public in a more sustainable manner on issues of Capital market, investment and wealth creation.

Mr Adu Anane-Antwi also said, the club is internet based and can be assessed on www.childfinanceclubghana.org.
“Our unique feature of this year’s Capital Markey Week celebration is the organization of the first Capital Market Quiz for Senior High Schools. This year, being the start of the quiz, it is being organized for SHSs in the Greater Accra Region. From next year, the competition is planned to be organized nationally,” he added.
He also revealed that the Commission will be organizing public forum in Accra as well as fora at the Universities and other tertiary institutions across the country.
