The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has highlighted pressing security concerns in Accra, revealing that the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has identified flashpoints, particularly around the Teshie area.

He urged increased vigilance from the police and announced an upcoming REGSEC meeting focused on maintaining peace in the region.

Titus-Glover made these remarks during a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, where he also emphasized the government’s commitment to unity and development within the Greater Accra Region.

During the visit, Titus-Glover presented food items to the Ga Mantse in support of the Homowo celebrations, which included bags of maize, palm fruits, tubers of yam, drums of palm oil, assorted drinks, and an undisclosed amount of money.

This gesture was for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Reflecting on his tenure as Deputy Minister of Transport, Titus-Glover praised the progress at the Jamestown Fishing Harbour and noted its significance for local fishermen and traders.

He also updated significant infrastructure projects, including the Obetsebi-Lamptey Interchange and ongoing road improvements, such as the Tema Beach Road to Osu and the Adenta to Dodowa Road. A presidential visit to these sites is scheduled for next week.

Titus-Glover underscored the importance of road development and education, highlighting the benefits of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy. He stressed that these initiatives are crucial for regional and national progress.

The Minister’s visit, which included stops at various clan houses and traditional areas, aimed to promote unity and showcase the rich culture of the Ga-Dangme people.

Titus-Glover’s comments reflected a broader commitment to fostering peace and development in the Greater Accra Region.

The Ga Mantse expressed his appreciation for the support, acknowledging the President’s care for the Ga people.

The Chief Priest of the Ga state also offered prayers for the officials, wishing them peace and success in their future endeavours.
