Ekame James Kwaku, a Security Guard, was on Thursday put before an Accra Circuit Court on the charges of conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.
Ekame was said to have conspired with two other persons now at large and robbed one Margaret Ahiadeke of her two mobile phones, one Ipad, one gold wrist watch, three Ghanaian passports,the sum of GHc 1,500.00 and unspecified amount of US Dollars, Euros and Pound Sterling.
They also robbed one Professor Clement Ahiadeke of his one cell phone, and an amount of GHc 2,000.00.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges but was remanded by the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh to reappear on May 10.
The facts of case as presented by Police Chief Inspector Kwabena Adu was that the complainant Margaret Ahiadeke is a lawyer of Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) and lives with the husband Professor Clement Ahiadeke at Narhman-Bohye, Accra, while the accused is a security guard and lives at Labadi, Accra.
He said on April 21, about 0230 hours, the complainant and her husband were in bed when three men armed with guns broke into their house.
The three robbers ransacked the bedroom and made away with the above listed items and money.
The prosecution said thereafter, the robbers locked complainant and the husband in the bedroom and bolted with the booty.
He told the court that the complainant who had identified the accused among the three robbers made a report to the police.
On same day, the complainant led Police to Labadi and identified the accused as the robber she saw among the three robbers who robbed them.
Police Chief Inspector Adu said the accused was arrested.
