Sefwi -Wiawso traditional council lifts ban on funerals

The Sefwi- Wiawso Traditional Council in the Western North Region has lifted the one month ban placed on the organization of funerals in the Traditional Area.

A ban was placed on funerals to pave the way for the month-long celebration of this year’s Elluo festival which ended successfully on December 9, 2021.

A statement issued and signed by Mr Solomon Ackaah-Tano, Registrar of the council and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) expressed gratitude to all who contributed in diverse ways to make the festival a success.

“The steering committee of the 2021 Elluo festival wishes to inform the general public especially, Nananom, Elders and the good people of Sefwi-Wiawso that this year’s Elluo festival has ended successfully”, the statement said.

“The ban on all funerals within the Traditional Area has been lifted accordingly on this day Thursday, December 9, 202”, it stated.
