A High Court in Sekondi has ordered the arrest of Dorcas Affo Toffey, Member of Parliament for Jomoro.

The Court, presided over by Justice Sedinam Agbemava, issued a bench warrant after the Jomoro Member of Parliament (MP) failed to appear before it on December 6, this year.

The MP has been accused of holding dual citizenship prior to her contesting as candidate in the 2020 general election.

Joshua Emuah Kofie of Nuba-Mpataba in the Jomoro Constituency, therefore, commenced a contempt proceedings against the MP.

In the said case, Madam Toffey, was ordered by the Court to furnish and deposit documents indicating that she had renunciated her alleged Ivorian citizenship.

She, however, filed a stay of execution, which was dismissed by the Court.
