Elders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the North-East Senatorial zone of Benue State, have endorsed Governor Gabriel Suswam for the senatorial ticket of the party come 2015, this is just as they have decided on the no re-election of Senator Barnabas Gemade in the next political dispensation.

This was even as the elders, in what appeared like pushing two giants to a tight corner added that Suswam?s tremendous achievements for the people of Benue were obvious and said that Gemade has only defended his personal egocentric rather than the interest of the? indigenes.

The Zone A party elders, who? converged in their large numbers, weekend,? at the Akume Atongo stadium, in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state, said that the event was put together to mark the governor?s election and supreme court victory.

Describing? Suswam?s antecedents as a triumph and promising, the political lords insisted that the governor must contest for the senatorial seat of the zone in 2015 with the view to unseat Senator Gemade, also of the ruling PDP who, the elders described as self serving egocentric.

In his speech on behalf of the forum, Elder Atoza Ihindan, said that the celebration was a hallmark of freedom from those who, according to him, sought to bring disharmony and hatred among politicians, stating that the era of underdevelopment for the entire state was over. He urged Suswam to vie for the senate seat of the Zone A in 2015.

However, Suswam said the elders should carry out proper consultations in their choice of candidates, saying that as a loyal servant, he was currently executing the mandate of the governor and that at an appropriate time, the demand of the elders would be looked into.
