Senegal confirms 4 COVID-19 cases

Senegal’s Ministry of Health and Social Action has confirmed third and fourth new cases of COVID-19.

According to the ministry, both of the patients infected are female. The first one is 68 years old French, wife of the second COVID-19 case in Senegal who was tested positif to the novel coronavirus on Tuesday. The couple arrived in Senegal from Paris on Feb. 29. The fourth confirmed case is a British national, 34 years old, arrived in Senegal from London on Feb. 24.

According to Ministry of Health and Social Action, all four patients are being treated in Fann Hospital. The medical conditions of the two first cases are “improving”. Senegalese President Macky Sall announced Wednesday, after a cabinet meeting, to suspend all his diplomatic schedule, and asked his ministers not to travel overseas until further notice. So far, till Wednesday, Senegal has four confirmed case of COVID-19, all foreign nationals.
