Vice Chairperson of the Women’s League Board, Rosalind Amoh, at a Press Conference at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Secretariat also revealed plans to ensure that the competition becomes a success.
According to her, considering the excitement and the patronage the competition has generated, the WLB has decided to host the semi-final and the final at neutral venues, not only to create awareness about the competition, but also to give fans the opportunity to watch the remaining matches.
The four teams to battle for the ultimate prize are Fabulous Ladies, Ampem Darkoa, Police Ladies and Immigration Ladies. Fabulous Ladies will slug it out with Ampem Darkoa on Saturday, August 27, at the Kumasi Stadium whilst Police Ladies host Immigration at the Tema Park.
The competition, which started with 32 clubs, has gone through the various elimination stages with some regional teams rubbing shoulders with the National Women’s League club.
Amoh believes that the maiden Sanford FA Cup has been competitive and called on fans to rally behind their respective clubs to ensure the success of the competition.
