Seven health workers in Uganda have tested positive for COVID-19, ministry of health said here on Sunday.

The ministry said in a statement that the health workers include three nurses, two doctors, and two senior-level staff.

The ministry said the health workers have all been admitted into the hospitals and are in stable condition.

“A team of experts specialized in infection, prevention and control, case management and psychosocial management are currently in the various places where the health workers tested positive to evaluate the response and investigate what could have led to the unfortunate infections of the health workers,” said the statement.

The ministry said the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Uganda are 417 including 72 recovered cases, and no death has been recorded. Enditem
