SIC-Life, one of the leading Insurance companies in Ghana on Tuesday donated items to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development in support of the National Sanitation Day (NSD).
The donated items which were estimated at GH?20,000.00 include wheel barrows, shovels, nose masks, helmets, rakes and gloves.
Mr Aaron Issa Anafure, Managing Director of SIC-Life, said the donation was in response to an appeal made by the Ministry to get tools in support of the NSD.
He said, as part of its corporate social responsibility, SIC-Life would continue to provide towards a cleaning Ghana and would be providing bins on the streets to make it difficult for people to litter the environment.
He said the company has also decided to renovate the Ayalolo Cluster of Schools in the Odododiodio constituency as the dusty nature of the school environment is causing a lot of harm to the pupils.
He called on other financial institutions to support the NSD and make Ghana cholera and malaria free.
Mr Julius Debrah, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development commended management of SIC-Life for the support.
He said the next edition of the NSD would be focused in the Ashanti Region in honour of Otumfuo Osei Tutu, the Asantehene, for his unflinching support to the programme.
He said the NSD has come to stay and urged other organisations to emulate the gesture by SIC-Life.
