Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio has tested negative for COVID-19 after around two weeks’self-isolation, the country’s State House Media Unit confirmed here on Monday.
All his family members and closes aides also test negative, it added.
The president was put on self-isolation after one of his bodyguards tested positive for COVID-19.
“After my fifteen-day self-isolation period, all tests for coronavirus are negative. I am very healthy and determined as ever to fight this Corona pandemic in Sierra Leone,” said Bio in a tweet.
A three-day nationwide lockdown started from May 3 remains in place in the West Africa country. The president plans to resume work in his office on Wednesday. Enditem
