A military court in Somali capital of Mogadishu has sentenced an Al-Shabaab militant to death while it handed down a life imprisonment for another, court official said Tuesday.

Abdulkadir Abukar Shacir was sentenced to death after the court found him guilty of involvement in three bomb explosions along Maka al Mukarama Street in Mogadishu.

Mohamed Omar Akile was condemned to life imprisonment while a third convict Abdullahi Ibrahim Gesey was given a two-year jail term.

The chairman of the court Hassan Ali Nur told journalists the three were found guilty of being responsible for several attacks in the city. Enditem
